FACIAL FAQ

With the essential and elevated facial, 4-7 days prior to your event to ensure the skin has time to absorb all the wonderful products applied, and gives it a chance to calm after stimulation.

With the dermaplaning and teen facial, 1-2 weeks prior to your event so the skin has a chance to heal itself and any purging the skin will do should have finished.

I would start by asking some questions about what you’ve been feeling with your skin - tightness, rough texture, oily etc. I would then have a closer look at the skin under my lamp, and see what I notice - redness, enlarged pores, texture, dullness etc. 

Eg. If someone notices oiliness with enlarged pores and uneven texture I would say they’d be an oily skin type. Whereas if someone came to me and noticed their skin felt tight after washing their face, and I noticed redness and flaking on the skin’s surface I would say they have a dry/sensitive skin type.

Depending on what facial we do it is completely normal to have mild reactions after a facial. With Dermaplaning for example, It is completely normal to have mild redness or sensitivity for a few hours after the treatment as we’ve removed the top layer of skin. 

With those who are acne prone or if we have done a lot of extractions it is completely normal for breakouts to occur, as we have stimulated cell turnover which then brings deep rooted impurities to the surface causing them to be purged from the skin. This is completely normal and typically these breakouts heal quite quickly.

We’ll start with you getting cozy in the bed, we’ll do a brief consultation about what your concerns are and how your skin is feeling at the moment - I’ll cleanse the skin and do an exfoliation, steam and optional extractions. Then to calm the skin I’ll perform a facial and neck and decolletage massage, followed by a calming mask and nourishing finishing products customized to your skin type and goals.

This means the products we use in your facials have all natural ingredients derived solely from botanicals

There are many benefits which include, the knowledge that the products being applied to your skin are natural and free from any chemicals, natural products are very gentle, nourishing and healing to keep your skin healthy, making them a great option for those with sensitive skin.

During my skin assessment I look at a few different things, overall texture of the skin how smooth or rough it is, if there’s any surface level fine lines or flaking, pore size, if the skin has any redness, if you experience acne where the acne is located on the face as this can indicate what might be causing the acne, I look at the tone of the skin and whether is bright or a bit dull, and what the muscle tone is in the skin. By looking at all these things I can get a clearer picture of where to go with our facial journey.
