Meet the Team

Krista Wasielewski

CLINIC OWNER AND RMT

e.
hello@threetideswellness.ca

Krista Wasielewski is the founder of Three Tides and a Registered Massage Therapist for the past twelve years.

Lindsay Schmalz

RMT, REGISTERED MASSAGE THERAPIST

e. lindsay@threetideswellness.ca

A graduate of the Canadian College of Massage and Hydrotherapy, Lindsay has been an RMT since 2015 and strives to tailor each massage to the individual for effective treatment. She understands body’s needs can fluctuate daily — be it a deep tissue massage one day or deep relaxation the next — and listens to each client’s concerns as well as their muscles to personalize treatment based on their needs and goals. Her techniques assists in the removal of discomfort and pain, increasing range of motion in the joints and encourages healing of the body.

A long-time sufferer of migraines and muscle pain, Lindsay has always felt relief through massage and became an RMT to share similar relief with others. As a lover of relaxation and rejuvenation (she owns more bath bombs than you, guaranteed), Lindsay considers helping people feel their best as the best part of her day.

Lindsay is a member in good standing with the College of Massage Therapists of Ontario and a member of the RMTAO. She specializes in deep tissue massage, is certified in low level laser therapy and is continuing her studies in myofascial release. She also has additional training in facial massage, which uses facial cups and gua sha tools (which promotes lifting and tightening of the skin).

Lindsay is an animal lover with two cats, Audrey and Alfred. When not massaging, she can be found dog sitting for friends and family, volunteering for local rescues or exploring her passion for interior design and décor.

*Lindsay is currently not accepting new clients. Referrals excepted.

Taylor Burch

OSTEOPATHIC MANUAL PRACTITIONER, M.OMSC

e.taylor@threetideswellness.ca

Taylor was introduced to the practice of osteopathy after dealing with years of occupational back pain and no relief from any other modalities. She only started to see results when she found an Osteopathic Manual Practitioner who searched for the root cause of her problems, rather than just treating her symptoms. She knew almost immediately that this was the career path she had been searching for.

Taylor is a graduate of the Canadian Academy of Osteopathy and a member of the Ontario Osteopathic Association. Prior to her osteopathic education, Taylor earned her Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy from Wilfrid Laurier University. Her educational background has allowed her to combine her skills in logic and reasoning with an in-depth knowledge of functional anatomy, physiology, biomechanics, assessment and mechanical principles.

Taylor’s approach to treatment is always unique to her patient’s specific needs and lifestyle. Through gentle adjustment of the body, Taylor will work to stabilize the structure, balance the body and remove obstructions that restrict the flow of nerves, arteries, veins and lymphatics. Only when the body is balanced, and structures are adjusted to normal, can we begin to facilitate the self-healing, self-regulating mechanisms of the body.

Please contact her or book an appointment to learn more about what Osteopathy can do to improve your health and wellness!

Helena Dackovic

Registered Physiotherapist, Pelvic Health Physiotherapist

e.helena@threetideswellness.ca

Helena is a physiotherapist who started the path to her career in her hometown of Waterloo. She completed her Bachelor of Health Sciences in 2015 at Wilfrid Laurier University, and then went on to Hamilton to further her studies with an MSc in Physiotherapy at McMaster University. Some of her placements and volunteering allowed her to travel and work outside of Ontario, including Vancouver, B.C and Belgrade, Serbia.

After graduating and becoming a Registered Physiotherapist, she began working as an Orthopedic Therapist where she treated patients suffering from a wide range of acute and chronic conditions. While she enjoyed every minute of it, she knew that she had a keen interest in women’s health and decided to complete courses specific to Pelvic Health Physiotherapy. Now she enjoys working with patients who are looking for help in areas of Physiotherapy related to a person’s pelvic floor.

Often patients who come to her are unsure of Pelvic Physiotherapy and what it entails, but Helena loves to walk a patient through the entire pelvic program and explain just how it can benefit each individual. She adjusts her treatment sessions so each is specific to the individual’s own pace toward the road to recovery. After the first assessment with Helena, you will feel much better about Pelvic Health Physiotherapy and how it can help!

Outside of work, Helena spends most of her time with her husband and her two little kids.  Anything to do with a beach, music, or dancing, is always on the agenda!

Dr. Kate Ferguson

NATUROPATHIC DOCTOR

e. kate@threetideswellness.ca

Dr. Katelynn Ferguson is a licensed Naturopathic Doctor, with a passion for empowering others to take control of their own health.

"I chose a career in Naturopathic Medicine because I knew that I wanted to find a way to truly help people find optimal wellness, and be in control of their own health.  It was my own struggles with weight, anxiety, and PCOS as a teenager that led me to naturopathic medicine. I needed a plan to manage my health concerns that didn’t rely on band-aid solutions to treat symptoms, but rather a strategy and plan that examined the root cause of my concerns.  With the help of naturopathic medicine I was able harness my hormones, and develop my own path to wellness. While I live my own health journey everyday, I have taken the drivers seat.  I have mapped out a much smoother, and much more empowered ride, where I am embodying the balanced life that I yearned for as a teenager.  It is my goal to help you find your drivers seat, take control of your health, and reach your vision of optimal wellness. I am committed to spending time with you, listening attentively to your concerns, and developing targeted individualized treatment plans to address them."- Dr. Kate, ND

Dr. Kate has a special focus on hormonal health, PCOS, women’s health, fertility, stress management, weight management, anxiety, athletic performance, and digestive concerns.  As a personal trainer, yoga teacher, and former varsity athlete she values the importance of movement in supporting the mind-body connection, and maintaining a healthy lifestyle.  She often incorporates mindfulness-based practices, and personalized exercise plans into treatment plans, to effectively treat the whole individual. Her treatment philosophy is rooted in uncovering the root cause of concerns through a detailed health history intake and comprehensive lab testing.  Treatment is focused on promoting the body's natural ability to heal through optimal nutrition, botanical medicine, acupuncture, lifestyle medicine, and traditional naturopathic modalities tailored to individual needs.

When she is not seeing patients at Three Tides, or diving into fresh research to make the best treatment plans, you can find her hiking with her partner and two pups, enjoying an iced coffee, challenging herself with a sweaty workout, or crafting new healthy recipes in the kitchen.
